Today, it goes without saying that countless students turn to YouTube to watch both educational and entertaining videos. In fact, YouTube’s press website reports that more than 4 billion videos are viewed on the site each day.
However, it is not only students who are taking advantage of YouTube. Some colleges and universities are using also the website as part of their recruiting efforts, hoping viral videos will be seen by future bachelor’s degree seekers around the country.
Recently, the University of Rochester released a hip-hop music video featuring its male a capella group Midnight Ramblers, The Washington Post reports. In the video, which is titled “Remember oUR Name,” the group of students raps about the school’s academics, dining facilities, gym and football field in an effort to give prospective students insight into the institution’s culture. Although the video has only been live on YouTube for about a week, it currently has almost 68,500 views.
