Do you know how to tie a tie?
What a wonderful world it would be if there were no ties to tie, and if for some reason you had to wear one, clip on ties were the trend. Well, sorry to break it to you, but at some point you gotta to know how to tie a tie. Funerals, weddings, graduation photos, bar mitzvahs, waiter jobs…there is a reason.
Thankfully, The Art of Manliness website has created videos and step by step instructions for four different tie knots. I know. You’re thinking, please, just show me one. Well this video from their site, shows you how to tie the most basic tie knot, otherwise known as the “schoolboy,” the “half windsor knot,” the “full windsor knot” and the “Shelby knot.” WHAT! Yes, the “Shelby knot” is a more obscure knot popularized by a TV anchorman in the 70′s. It works best with wider ties that are made from heavier material.
