I’m a total sucker for any project that benefits animals. Pics for Pets is a great new project from the greatest ‘do good website’ - DoSomething.org. Did you know that every year approximately 3 to 4 million animals in shelters are killed simply because they don’t get adopted. Believe me I know. As a fan of pet pardons.com, I receive daily Facebook posts about animals about to be put down if they are not adopted. Truly a daily sobering reminder between the posts from my many friends.
One reason that pets don’t get adopted is because of bad pictures. DoSomething.org feels that just by taking and sharing a great picture of a shelter animal, you can DOUBLE it’s chance of being adopted. Pics for Pets is a campaign that gives you the tools to take and share great photos of shelter animals to get them adopted.
In conjunction with DoSomething.org, Facebook has created an app so teens can share pet pics with their circles of friends. iOs and Android apps can also be utilized to upload photos by visiting Picsforpets.org or simply texting “PETS” to 38383.
Not only does the campaign assist animals, but you also have a chance to win a $10,000 scholarship.
Here’s what you can do. Visit here to find out all of the details. Looking forward to seeing your photo posted in the gallery below.
