The first wave of nominations for 2012 Teen Choice Awards has been announced, and Miley Cyrus is once again vying for the title of Choice Fashion Icon: Female. Having been nominated three times before for the kudo, Cyrus is up against Nicki Minaj this year. The 19-year-old songstress also gets stiff competition from three other contenders, “New Girl” star Zooey Deschanel, “American Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez and fellow pop singer Katy Perry.

2012 Teen Choice Awards celebrates the hottest teen icons in television,music, film, sports, fashion, comedy and the web. Its star-studded two-hour ceremony will air live Sunday, July 22 on FOX. Fans between the ages of 13-19 can vote for their favorites beginning Friday, May 18 on the official Teen Choice Awards website.
